New Release: Ceremony Blu-ray and DVD

Uma Thurman could very well be in love in Ceremony.

Magnolia released the romantic comedy movie Ceremony, starring Uma Thurman (Percy Jackson and The Olypmpians: The Lightning Thief) and Michael Angarano (TV’s “24”) on Blu-ray and DVD on June 21, 2011.

In the film, Sam (Angarano) is a relentlessly confident would-be author in his mid-20s who has stumbled into a short-term relationship with Zoe (Thurman), a beautiful woman in her late 30s with a bad habit of dating men who aren’t right for her.

Although Zoe is very much over Sam, he’s convinced they were truly in love, so he’s upset to learn she’s engaged to marry Whit Coutell (Lee Pace, The Resident), a successful but colossally arrogant director of wildlife documentaries. Seeking another chance with Zoe, Sam persuades his best friend (Reece Thompson, Daydream Nation) to join him for a trip to Long Island where they’ll hang out with some of their buddies. However, what Sam really has in mind is to crash Zoe and Whit’s weekend-long wedding festivities and convince her that he’s the right man for her.

The first feature film from writer/director Max Winkler (Henry’s son), Ceremony premiered as a video-on-demand title in early March 2011 and received a limited release in theaters in early April.

No bonus features are on the Blu-ray and DVD, which carry the list prices of $29.98 and $26.98, respectively.
