William Hurt is former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson in Too Big To Fail.

HBO Films’ Emmy-nominated 2011 drama Too Big To Fail presents an account of the events that led to the 2008 financial crisis and how the U.S. economy was brought back from the brink of collapse.

Based on the bestselling book by Andrew Ross Sorkin and directed by Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential), Too Big To Fail offers a look at the men and women who roam the corridors of power and who essentially decided the fate of the world’s economy in a matter of a few weeks. Centering on Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson (William Hurt, Broadcast News) the film goes behind closed doors to examine the dangerous symbiotic relationship between Wall Street and Washington

First broadcast on HBO in May, 2011, the film features a cast of heavy hitters, including Paul Giamatti (Barney’s Version), James Woods (Straw Dogs), Cynthia Nixon (Sex And The City), Topher Grace (Take Me Home Tonight), Billy Crudup (Eat Pray Love), Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket) and Bill Pullman (Peacock).

The Blu-ray/DVD Combo is presented under HBO’s “Blu-ray with HBO Select” brand, which offers consumers the choice of three formats in one set: Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.

The release of the well-reviewed film includes the following bonus features:

  • “The Making of Too Big To Fail” (Blu-ray with HBO Select only) – The cast and crew share their thoughts on the events that inspire the film
  • “Opening the Vault on the Financial Crisis” (Blu-ray with HBO Select only) – The cast, crew and financial experts discuss the origins of the economic crisis
