Cirque du Soleil: Worlds AwayWith Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, the famed circus got a Hollywood infusion, executive produced by Avatar filmmaker James Cameron and written and directed by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe helmer Andrew Adamson.

The film isn’t all dance and gymnastics. It has a story that’s a mix of Alice in the Wonderland and the Nutcracker Suite:

Mia (Erica Linz) becomes entranced by an Aerialist (Igor Zaripov). When they accidentally fall into a dreamlike world, they are separated and must travel through different worlds trying to find each other again.

Rated PG, Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away was screened in limited theaters in the U.S. and grossed $12 million.
