Rio 2

In Rio 2, the loveable bird returns with a new flock of voice talent, including singer Bruno Mars, Kristin Chenoweth (You Again), and Andy Garcia (City Island).

Blu (Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network) and Jewel (Anne Hathaway, Les Miserables) return with their three kids, and take a walk on the wild side as they journey through the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit into his new surroundings, he goes beak-to-beak with the villainous Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all — his father-in-law.

Three years after the original Rio released, this animated film proved to be a huge hit at the box office, grossing more then $490 million worldwide and the DVD and Blu-ray is sure to follow for family viewers who didn’t make it to the theater.

The Blu-ray comes with more than an hour of special features, including 15 exclusive levels of Angry Birds RIO and two downloadable bonus songs from the Rio 2 soundtrack: “I Will Survive” and “Poisonous Love,” both performed by Gabi (Kristin Chenoweth) and Nigel (Jemaine Clement, Men in Black 3).

The discs also carry Music Machine sing-along and dance-along songs.

Other features are

  • “What is Love” lyric video
  • one deleted scene
  • character auditions
  • and a stills gallery.

The DVD offers:

  • the “What is Love” video
  • “I Will Survive”
  • stills gallery
  • “Birds and Beats: TheSinging Talents of Rio 2”
  • “Nigel the Shakespearean Cockatoo and Friends”
  • and theatrical trailers.

The Blu-ray and DVD will also include 7.1 DTS HD sound, which is a really nice feature with such a musical release.
