Despicable Me 2Gru and his minions were an even bigger force for laughs in Despicable Me 2. The sequel grossed a whopping $362 million at the box office, more than $100 million more than the original.

Steve Carell (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) returns to voice the now reformed master criminal Gru, who’s trying to adjust his new life taking care of his three adopted daughters. But when the Anti-Villain League needs help investigating the theft of a secret Arctic laboratory, Gru is recruited and partners with eccentric agent Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig, Bridesmaids). Along with his Minions, Gru must solve the mystery while also keeping up his fatherly duties.

Russell Brand (Hop), Miranda Cosgrove (School of Rock) and Ken Jeong (The Muppets) are back, and Benjamin Bratt (TV’s Law & Order) and Steve Coogan (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) join the cast.

Although not as acclaimed as the original, Despicable Me 2 still scored highly with critics, earning 75% approval, according to Rotten Tomatoes, 85% from moviegoers.
