Love Happens movie scene with Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer AnistonDespite having Jennifer Aniston prominently on the cover, Love Happens is much more a story of Aaron Eckhart’s character. Playing a self-help guru who needs his own help, Eckhart (Rabbit Hole) is trying to come to terms with his wife’s death three years ago. It’s obvious that he’s good at helping others, but that can’t translate to his own life. When he meets Aniston, she gives him the push he needs to face his grief and finally move on.

For her own part, Aniston (The Bounty Hunter) is serviceable as the love interest, but she doesn’t have much to work on. Her character seems to have the normalcy of a sweet woman who loves flowers with some quirky additions mixed in more for flavor than character or story. She does have a story line of her own, as she comes out of a bad relationship at the beginning of the movie and has to learn to trust another man, but the roundup of that thread ended up on the cutting room floor, and fans will have to watch the deleted scenes on this Blu-ray to see it.

The deleted scenes also offer up the full story line of Tyler (Joe Anderson, The Crazies), Aniston’s ex who only ended up in one scene in the final movie. His full story could have added another fun element to the film, however.

Also on the disc is a commentary with director/co-writer Brandon Camp, producer/co-writer Mike Thompson and executive producer Richard Solomon, plus a look at the movie scenes that were enhanced with the use of green scene. You might be surprised which ones.
