New Release: Discovery’s Life DVD and Blu-ray

Dicovery's LifeDiscovery‘s nature program Life arrived on DVD and Blu-ray through the Discover Channel Store before it was available in stores.

A follow-up to the dynamic documentary Planet Earth, the 11-part series Life is narrated by Oprah Winfrey and in spring 2010.

The DVD was priced at $59.95 and Blu-ray at $69.95. From what I’ve seen of the footage, it’s worth it to spend the extra $10 for the high-def version.

Discovery's Life Blu-ray boxThe four-disc DVD and Blu-ray sets include bonus material, including deleted scenes and a making-of special.

The series explores different types of life on Earth, such as migrating reindeer and elephants and Monarch butterflies in Mexico. The series shows 130 stories from the natural world.

DiscoveryStore.com launched a sweepstakes for an eight-day Discovery Adventures African Serengeti safari trip for two. The trip included a search for lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants and rhinos in the Serengeti National Park.
