New Release: Resident Evil Afterlife DVD, Blu-ray and 3D

Resident Evil: Afterlife movie sceneThe fourth movie in the Resident Evil science-fiction horror franchise, Resident Evil: Afterlife, was the first film from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to come out on Blu-ray 3D the same day as DVD and Blu-ray. The movie arrives on DVD ($28.95), Blu-ray ($34.95) and Blu-ray 3D ($39.95) on Dec. 28, 2010, in time for the spending of Christmas gift cards.

In the movie, which grossed $60 million in theaters, Milla Jovovich (The Fourth Kind) reprises her role as Alice, who continues her mission to find survivors of a virus infection that has ravaged the world, turning its victims into the undead. Jovovich is joined in her battle with an old friend, and they travel to Los Angeles looking for a safe haven. Heroes Ali Larter also stars, and Afterlife is directed and written by Paul W. S. Anderson, who also wrote the original Resident Evil as well as sequels Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Resident Evil: Extinction and directed the original film.
