New Release: Exit Through The Gift Shop DVD

Oscilloscope released the comedy-injected documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop on DVD on Dec. 14, 2010, for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Exit Through the Gift Shop follows an eccentric shopkeeper turned amateur filmmaker as he attempts to capture many of the world’s most famous graffiti “vandals” on camera, only to have the popular but mysterious British street artist Banksy turn the camcorder back on its owner.

Directed by Banksy, this chaotic trip through low-level criminality, comradeship and incompetence is by turns shocking, hilarious and absurd. It’s a modern-day fairy tale if ever there was one.

The independent film grossed nearly $4 million at the box office during its limited run in theaters this summer.

Bonus features on the DVD (which comes packaged with a souvenir sticker pack) include the following:

  • B Movie – an exclusive film about the “art” of Banksy
  • Life Remote Control (Lawyer’s edit) – The movie that started it all (on DVD for the first time)
  • and deleted scenes.
