New Release: Paranormal Activity 2 DVD and Blu-ray

Paranormal Activity 2 movie sceneHorror movie Paranormal Activity 2 arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on Feb. 8, 2011, from Paramount Home Entertainment.

The sequel, which grossed $84 million, is actually a prequel, showing the days that led up to the events of the original film, which was released in theaters in 2009.

In Paranormal Activity 2, Kristie (Sprague Grayden of TV’s 24), sister of the original film’s Katie, and her husband set up 24-hour surveillance cameras in their home after their home is vandalized after they bring home their newborn baby. In the footage, they discover something supernatural is going on, something more sinister and shocking than anything they could have imagined. Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat reprise their roles from the original movie, which also stars Molly Ephraim (College Road Trip).

The DVD and Blu-ray versions include the R-rated theatrical film plus new footage, including an extended and unrated version of the story.

The Blu-ray, a Blu-ray/DVD combo release, also has a downloadable digital copy of the unrated version of Paranormal Activity 2.

The DVD was priced at $19.99 and Blu-ray/DVD combo at $29.99.
