The 2002 romance drama film The Rules of Attraction was released on Blu-ray on April 5, 2011, by Lionsgate.

Directed by Roger Avary (Killing Zoe) and based on the 1987 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, the movie provides an up close and uncomfortably personal view of the drugged-out, sexed-up lives of the most disaffected students at New Hampshire’s fictional Camden College. Among them are Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek, Mrs. Miracle), a womanizing drug dealer seeking some kind of redemptive love; Lauren (Shannyn Sossamon, A Knight’s Tale), a sensitive virgin looking for love but saving herself for the much sought after Victor (Kip Pardue, Stag Night); and Paul (Ian Somerhalder, TV’s The Vampire Diaries) a sexually adventurous young man who just wants to make any kind of connection.

A darkly funny satire of life, love and the pursuit of social debauchery, the film also stars Jessica Biel (The A-Team), Kate Bosworth (Wonderland) and Jay Baruchel (She’s Out of My League).

The Blu-ray disc, which includes five “revolving door” commentary tracks by the cast and crew along with bonus commentary by a “mystery guest,” carries a list price of $19.95.
