New Release: Bitter/Sweet DVD

Kip Pardue and Mamee Nakprasit fall for each other in the romantic comedy Bitter/Sweet.

Vanguard released the exotic romantic comedy Bitter/Sweet, starring Kip Pardue and Thai actress Mamee Nakprasit, on DVD on May 24, 2011.

The 2009 movie tells the tale of American executive and coffee expert Brian Chandler (Pardue, Stag Night) who is sent to Thailand by his coffee mogul boss (James Brolin, Capricorn One) to inspect a crop for purchase.

Upon arrival, Brian meets Bangkok PR executive Ticha (Nakprasit) who takes care of Thailand’s glamorous multi-talented diva Tata Young (played by herself). Though each has a love life of of his or her own, Brian and Ticha’s journey leads them from the cosmopolitan bustle of Bangkok to the picturesque coffee plantations of Krabi and to the slow realization that they were made for each other.

Written and directed by Jeff Hare, Bitter/Sweet picked up a couple of awards at the World-Fest Houston, including Best Director and Best Film. Its upcoming release on DVD represents its commercial premiere in the U.S.

No bonus features are on the DVD, which carries a list price of $19.95.
