New Release: You Don’t Know Jack DVD

Dr. Jack Kevorkian has been called an angel of mercy … as well as the murderous “Doctor Death.” Decide for yourself when with the acclaimed — and Emmy-nominated — HBO original film You Don’t Know Jack on DVD, which was released on Oct. 26, 2010, for the suggested price of $26.98.

Starring Al Pacino (…And Justice For All) as Kevorkian, the biography TV movie is the story of the controversial doctor and his passionate belief that people have the right to die — and the right to choose when they die.

Barry Levinson (Sleepers) directed the drama film, which also stars Susan Sarandon (Peacock), Danny Huston (Robin Hood), John Goodman (The Big Lebowski) and Brenda Vaccaro (Midnight Cowboy) as Kevorkian’s dedicated sister Margo.

The movie was nominated for a Best Actor Emmy Award for Pacino; Outstanding Made for Television Movie; Art Direction for a Miniseries of Movie; Casting; Cinematography; Costumes; Directing; Hairstyling; Makeup; Music Composition; Single-Camera Editing; Best Supporting Actor for John Goodman; Best Supporting Actress for Susan Sarandon and Brenda Vaccaro; and Writing. The Emmy winners will be announced on Aug. 29.

The only special feature included on the DVD is a featurette that offers interviews with the cast and crew, as well as Jack Kevorkian himself.

Warner Home Video distributes HBO product.
