DVD premiere sequels to horror movies is almost a given, and Sony extends the Quarantine franchise with this film.
In the appropriately titled Quarantine 2: Terminal, the deadly virus moves from an infected building to an airplane on a late-night flight. Not even the passengers who switch off their air controls are safe when the virus starts turning people into blood-thirsty killers.
And to make matters worse for the few passengers who aren’t yet infected, the plane is forced to land at an isolated terminal then surrounded by armed government agents, who don’t seem to care who’s showing symptoms.
Rated R, the 86-minute movie lacks any name actors (the original cast included Jennifer Carpenter from TV’s Dexter and Takers‘ Jay Hernandez). Quarantine 2: Terminal is the feature film directorial debut of John Pogue, writer of Ghost Ship, who also wrote this movie. The cast includes TV actress Mercedes Masohn, Josh Cooke from TV’s Better With You and Ignacio Serrichio from TV’s Ghost Whisperer.
The DVD and Blu-ray include no special features.

For me, nothing has ever come close to the BCC 1970’s series SURVIVORS based on the few persons who survive an accidentally-released worldwide plague. I am afraid that blood-ghouls are a bit overstated and oudated. But I guess it does not require a lot of imagination whereas SURVIVORS had the incredible talent of Terry Nation behind it. The complete series of Survivors was released by the BBC (2 Entertain) as a DVD (Region 2, UK), on 24 November 2008. For those interested, check out Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivors.
