One Day movie scene

Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess are looking for love in One Day.

One Day is a romance-drama film starring Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs) and Jim Sturgess (The Way Back) that tracks the relationship between a man and a woman by looking in on them on the same day every year over the course of two decades.

After “beginning” together one day—July 15th, 1988, their college graduation—Emma Morley (Hathaway) and Dexter Mayhew (Sturgess) begin a friendship that lasts a lifetime. She’s a working-class girl who dreams of making the world a better place. He’s a wealthy charmer who thinks the world is his playground. Somewhere over the next two decades, these two very different people realize that the love they’ve been hoping for has been there for them all along.

Directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education) and based on the bestselling novel by David Nicholls (who also wrote the screenplay), the movie co-stars Jodie Whittaker (Attack the Block) and Patricia Clarkson (Easy A).

Generally well-received by critics, the PG-13-rated One Day rang up a so-so $15 million at the domestic box office in a August, 2011 release to 1,725 screens in U.S. theaters.

No bonus features have been announced.
