Transformers Dark of the MoonAs promised, the Blu-ray 3D version of Michael Bay’s science-fiction film Transformers Dark of the Moon comes packed with special features.

The third movie in the action franchise, based on the Hasbro toys, Dark of the Moon was first released on DVD and as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack on Sept. 30, 2011, but neither offered extras. Those, Bay promised, would come when the film was released on Blu-ray 3D, and he has kept that promise.

Transformers Dark of the Moon was shown in 3D in theaters to decent reviews — for its 3D, at least — during its original run at the box office in the summer of 2011, racking up a U.S. gross of $352 million. But a home 3D version was delayed. As Michael Bay said at the time of the original DVD and Blu-ray release: “I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing — and that process takes time.”

Bay believes the Blu-ray 3D version of the movie “will blow you away.”
