The Big Bang Theory: Season One scene

Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco get theoretical in The Big Bang Theory.

The release of The Big Bang Theory: The Complete First Season and The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray marks the high-definition debut of the first two seasons of the popular TV show, as well as marking the first-ever television series box sets from Warner Bros. to include episodes on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as an UltraViolet copy – all in one complete package.

The first two seasons of the hot, hot, hot sitcom (which is wrapping it’s fifth hit season) introduced the world to the lives of the “Bang Gang”:  For starters, there are roommates Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who possess an infinite amount of book smarts as physics professors at Caltech, but nearly combust at the sight of a pretty girl.  Then there’s the beautiful Penny (Kaley Cuoco), who moves across the hall, pulling the guys and their equally “socially challenged” friends out of a laboratory setting and into the real world. Caltech will never be the same as the gang from Pasadena awkwardly navigates through life, love and laughter.

The Complete First Season Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack features all 17 episodes from the debut season and an UltraViolet digital copy, along with a new gag reel and special features that appeared on the original DVD release, including a behind-the-scenes look into geek chic and the featurette “Quantum Mechanics of The Big Bang Theory.”

The Complete Second Season Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack offers the season’s 23 episodes and an UltraViolet digital copy, along with all the special features that were seen on the original DVD release, including a gag reel and two featurettes: “Physicist to the Stars: Real-Life Physicist/UCLA Professor David Saltzberg’s Consulting Relationship to the Show” and “Testing the Infinite Hilarity Hypothesis in Relation to The Big Bang Theory: Season Two’s Unique Characters and Characteristics.”

The show’s third and fourth seasons have been previously issued on DVD and Blu-ray and are still available.
