Much Ado About NothingJoss Whedon (The Cabin in the Woods) takes a contemporary twist on Shakespeare’s play for Much Ado About Nothing.

The film gained notoriety as being Whedon’s break project, a quick movie he whipped up at his home between principal photography and post-production of Marvel’s The Avengers. (He talks about how it actually helped in with Avengers in this Moviefone article.)

A romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing tells the story of two couples with different takes on romance.

The film stars Whedon regular Nathan Fillion (TV’s Castle), as well as Clark Gregg (Thor), Sean Maher, Amy Acker (TV’s Point of Interest), Fran Kranz (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules) and Reed Diamond (Moneyball).

Much Ado About Nothing was released in only a handfull of theaters but grossed a tidy $4 million after receiving rave reviews from critics. Chicago Sun-Times‘ Sheila O’Malley says, “The magic holds. It holds from beginning to end.”

The Blu-ray and DVD come with these special features:

  • featurette “Much Ado About Making Nothing”
  • featurette “Bus Ado About Nothing”
