Jacob's Ladder movie scene with Tim RobbinsThe 1990 thriller Jacob’s Ladder, starring Tim Robbins (Bull Durham, War of the Worlds), got its high-definition debut on Sept. 14, 2010, when it was released on Blu-ray.

In Lionsgate‘s movie, Robbins plays a Vietnam vet who is tormented by his vivid memories of war and the death of his son. He begins to see demonic visions and hallucinations, leaving him to wonder if he is suffering from post-traumatic stress, dementia or something paranormal.

According to Lionsgate, the Washington Post called Jacob’s Ladder a “terrifying landscape of nightmares, fantasies and illusions.”

Directed by Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction), the independent film also stars Elizabeth Pena (Rush Hour), Jason Alexander (TV’s Seinfeld) and Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible franchise).

Priced at $19.99, the Jacob’s Ladder Blu-ray comes with these special features:

  • audio commentary from director Lyne,
  • deleted scenes
  • and a making-of featurette.

These same special features were on the previously released DVD of the film.

Here’s the trailer for the film. Judge for yourself its creepiness:
