With Liam Neeson headlining such big theatrical movies as The A-Team and Unknown, a lesser-known Neeson film arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on March 15, 2011. Neeson narrated the documentary The Wildest Dream, which was released by Virgil Films & Entertainment and National Geographic Entertainment.
Released in a limited number of theaters in 2010, The Wildest Dream looks at the story of mountain climber George Malloy, who was intent on becoming the first climber to reach the top of Mount Everest until his disappearance on a climb in 1924. Eight decades later, Conrad Anker goes in search of the truth of what happened to Malloy and whether he did achieve his dream to be the first person on top of Mount Everest.
As well as Neeson’s narration, the movie features dramatized scenes with voiceovers by Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon), Hugh Dancy (Black Hawk Down), Alan Rickman (Harry Potter movies) and the late Natasha Richardson (The Handmaid’s Tale).
Both the DVD and Blu-ray include these special features:
- raw interview footage
- information on the Khumbu Climbing Centre
- photo gallery.
Judging by the movie’s trailer, this documentary looks awesome. Check it out:
