New Release: Chicago Overcoat DVD

Chicago Overcoat movie scene

Retired triggerman Frank Vincent returns to work in Chicago Overcoat.

On April 19, 2011, MTI released Chicago Overcoat, a 2009 Mob crime thriller, on DVD. The film stars Frank Vincent and Mike Starr, two veterans of the greatest of all modern mafia movies, Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas.

In the independent film, a one-time top hit man for the Chicago Mafia, aging gangster Lou Marazano (Vincent, TV’s The Sopranos) comes out of retirement to kill a handful of witnesses before they can testify against a Mob boss (Armand Assante, The Bleeding). Marazano’s elimation tango brings him up against burnt-out cop Ralph Maloney (Danny Goldring, The Dark Knight), who’s on the verge of retirement. Is it any surprise that at the movie’s climax, old scores are settled as new bullets fly?

Directed by Brian Caunter and shot on location in the titular Windy City, Chicago Overcoat premiered on Showtime.

The DVD carries a suggested retail price of $24.95.

Bonus features on this disc include deleted scenes and two making-of featurettes: “What is a Chicago Overcoat” and “The Tommy Gun Shootout.”
