Dazed and Confused movie scene

The boys are back in town in Dazed and Confused.

Writer/director Richard Linklater’s 1993 instant stoner classic movie Dazed and Confused was brought out on high-definition Blu-ray for the first time on Aug. 9, 2011, from Universal Studio Home Entertainment.

A 1970 comedy filled with Camaros, weed, high school hazing, weed, keg parties and more weed, Dazed and Confused was a career-launching film for such stars as Academy Award winner Ben Affleck (The Town), Matthew McConaughey (The Lincoln Lawyer), Milla Jovovich (Stone) and Parker Posey (Superman Returns). Familiar faces aside, the cult movie favorite offers a soundtrack of classic rock that includes tunes from Aerosmith, Alice Cooper and Foghat.

Here’s a list of the bonus features Universal put on the Blu-ray :

  • U-Control: Universal’s feature that lets the viewer access bonus materials without leaving the movie.
  • “The Music of Dazed and Confused” Instantly identify the songs heard while watching the film, create a custom playlist of your favorites and even purchase them from iTunes
  • BD-LIVE access to watch the latest trailers and more
  • Pocket Blu app that allows smartphones and computers to work seamlessly with a network-connected Blu-ray player
  • UHear feature that allows easy skipping back is you miss dialogue
