Shannon Beckner takes to her bike to avoid being flattened by the Super Hybrid.

Anchor Bay released the 2010 action horror Super Hybrid — a killer car movie!! — on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 23, 2011, for the list prices of $29.99 and $22.98, respectively.

Lovely Shannon Beckner (You Are Here) stars in the independent film as Tilda, a mechanic in a Chicago police impound garage who is introduced to a strange car that has been brought in following a deadly traffic accident.

It seems that the car has a murderous mind of its own, as well as the ability to transform into different vehicles. So in order to survive the car’s inevitable killing rampage, prospective human victims must not only outrun the venomous vehicle, but be able to outwit it as well.

Directed by Eric Valette (One Missed Call), the movie was originally entitled Hybrid and presented in 3D when it rolled out to European film festivals last year.

Super Hybrid arrived on U.S. shores in a 2D presentation with a making-of featurette as a bonus feature.

I’m always game for a good killer car movie — hell, I was once the proud owner of VHS copies of Christine, The Car and even the 1974 Peter Weir comedy-thriller The Cars That Ate Paris! So it’s fair to say I’m looking forward to checking this one out. And that a motorcycle-riding hottie is the human poised to reduce the lethal roadster to scrap metal makes it even more appealing!
