Ray Charles - Live In France, 1961 scene

Ooh la la...It's Ray Charles, Live In France.

The DVD Ray Charles – Live In France, 1961 is culled from a group of newly discovered concerts featuring an hour and 45 minutes of previously unreleased performances by the legendary singer.

Filmed at the 1961 Antibes Jazz Festival in France, the concerts were Ray’s first performances in Europe. They unveil Charles at the height of his powers, backed by the original Raelettes and arguably his greatest-ever band, which includes the saxophonists David “Fathead” Newman and Hank Crawford.

Issued with the full cooperation of the Ray Charles estate, these concerts have been newly transferred from the original 16mm films and digitally restored and remastered.
