The 2005 action-adventure family movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl tells the titular super-heroic tale of a boy (Taylor Lautner, the Twilight series) raised by watchful great white sharks and a girl (Taylor Dooley, Whitepaddy) who embodies the force of a volcano.

They’re the genuine article when it comes to fighting an alien intelligence that threatens their very exisitence. But are Sharkboy and Lavgirl actually real? Or are they the result of a young boy named Max and his wildly active imagination?

Directed and co-written by Robert Rodriguez (the Spy Kids franchise), the film also stars  David Arquette (Scream 4), Kristin Davis (Sex and the City 2) and George Lopez (Rio).

The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl was presented in 3D during its theatrical run, but will only receive a 2D high-definition makeover for its Blu-ray premiere.

Bonus feature on the Blu-ray disc all appeared previously on the DVD release of the film and include the following:

  • making-of featurette
