Bag of Bones2011 TV movie Bag of Bones is based on a novel by renowned horror author Stephen King and tells the story of a tortured novelist.

In the film, Pierce Brosnan (The Ghost Writer) stars as Mike Noonan, a best-selling writer whose wife died suddenly. Grieving, he retreats to their lake house in Maine and becomes involved in a custody battle between a young widow and her child’s very weathly grandfather. But when Mike starts having ghostly visitations and nightmares, he realizes his late wife still has something to tell him.

The almost 3-hour horror movie also stars Melissa George (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy), Annabeth Gish (TV’s Pretty Little Liars), Anika Noni Rose (For Colored Girls), Jason Priestley (TV’s Call Me Fitz) and Matt Frewer (Alice).

Bag of Bones was directed by Mick Garris, who knows a thing or two about horror and Stephen King adaptations as the creator of TV series Masters of Horror and the director of the 1997 TV mini-series version of King’s The Shining.

The DVD includes two featurettes:

  • “Voicemail From Sid”
  • and “I Miss You Jo.”

Bag of Bones aired on A&E and was streamed at A&E Online.
