The same story was detailed in the movie SEAL Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden, released on video-on-demand then DVD and Blu-ray in January 2013. But Zero Dark Thirty has bigger name actors and was screened on the big screen. The film was even nominated for five Academy Awards.

Zero Dark Thirty stars Jessica Chastain (The Help) as Maya, the female CIA operative who tracked the location of Osama Bin Laden. Her information sent SEAL Team 6 onto the historical mission.

Jason Clarke (Lawless), James Gandolfini (Killing Them Softly), Kyle Chandler (Argo), Mark Strong (Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy), Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Frank Grillo (End of Watch) and Chris Pratt (The Five-Year Engagement) are also in the movie, which was directed by Hurt Locker‘s Kathryn Bigelow.

Zero Dark Thirty Blu-ray boxZero Dark Thirty grossed a tidy $85 million in theaters, to huge acclaim from critics. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 93% approval rating. The movie was nominated for an Oscar in editing, sound editing, original screenplay, leading actress Chastain and Best Motion Picture of the Year.
