The Colombian Connection movie scene

Robert Thorne descends into the bush in The Colombian Connection.

Robert Thorne (Poker Run) and the ever-jumpy Tom Sizemore (Red Planet) star in the 2011 retro-styled action-thriller movie The Colombian Connection.

It all kicks off when former cop Jack Hooks (Thorne) is framed by his corrupt partner, Frank Rossi (Sizemore), and sentenced to jail for a drug crime he didn’t commit. When the DEA offers an early release deal, he embarks on a do-or-die mission to bring down his former partner’s drug trade. Plunging into the underworld of marijuana smuggling, he makes one big run through the narrow Yucatan channel flowing between Cuba and Mexico and into the heart of a violent Colombian drug ring led by Carlos Huerta (David Castro, The Lincoln Lawyer). The ruthless drug lord is Rossi’s source of supply and Hook’s ultimate target … that is, if he can escape the jungles of Colombia before his relationship with Huerta’s young courtesan (Bianca Malinowski) is discovered.

Directed and co-written by Julian Higgins, the R-rated Columbian Connection was originally titled Through The Eye for its tiny release to theaters in November, 2011.
