Kevin Costner (Hatfields & McCoys) and Amber Heard (Paranoia) play spy in 3 Days to Kill.
The action film stars Costner as a CIA agent known for tackling the most dangerous missions. When he finds out he’s ill and dying, he decides to quit and try to repair his relationship with his teenage daughter (Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit).
In comes CIA operative Amber Heard. She wants to bring down a ruthless terrorist, and promises Costner an experimental drug that will cure what ails him if he takes on the case. Trying not to disappoint his daughter, Costner’s Ethan Renner must hide his new mission as he tries to make amends to his family.
Written by Luc Besson (Lockout) and Adi Hasak (From Paris With Love), 3 Days to Kill was directed by McG (This Means War) and also stars Connie Nielsen (Boss: Season Two) as Costner’s ex-wife.
The PG-13 movie grossed $30.5 million with not great reviews from critics. Richard Roeper called it “Pure trash, but it’s entertaining as hell.”
