The movie tells the story of medical school dropout Wallace (Radcliffe), who’s been repeatedly burned, by bad relationships. Then that he meets Chantry (Kazan), an animator who lives with her longtime boyfriend Ben (Rafe Spall, Prometheus).
Wallace and Chantry form an instant connection, striking up a close friendship. Still, there is no denying the chemistry between them, leading the pair to wonder, “What If” the love of your life is actually your best friend? Stay tuned…
Directed by Michael Dowse (Goon), What If co-stars Adam Driver (TV’s Girls) and Mackenzie Davis (That Awkward Moment).
Generally well-received by the critics, who gave it a 6.2/10 rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on 110 published reviews, The PG-13-rated What If rang up a not-bad $3.5 million at the domestic box office upon it limited release to theaters in August, 2014.
