The technology-infused crime thriller Blackhat from filmmaker Michael Mann (Thief) stars Chris Hemsworth (Rush) in a story about a brilliant black hat hacker, Nicholas Hathaway, who’s released from prison and recruited by Federal law enforcement to stop a dangerous, global criminal network that operates from an unknown base somewhere in Asia.

Hathaway and his team embark on a journey that takes them from Los Angeles and Hong Kong to Perak, Malaysia and Jakarta. As Hathaway closes in, and as unanticipated consequences have made it all personal, he discovers the cyber sabotage of a Chinese nuclear power plant was just the beginning…
Also starring in the movie are Viola Davis (The Help) as a tough-minded security specialist, Wang Leehom (Lust, Caution) as a Chinese military captain and cyber warfare expert, and Wei Tang (Dragon) as a recruited cyber specialist and Hathaway’s lover.
Not-so-well-received by the critics, who gave it a tepid 33% positive rating at Rotten Tomatoes, Blackhat grossed an equally disappointing $8 million at the domestic box office. It’s considered to be 2015’s first major flop…!
