Michael Moriarty (Q: The Winged Serpent) stars as a naive rookie cop whose youthful idealism thrusts him into an interdepartmental power play leading to the death of another young officer, whose deep undercover work has led her to move in with a handsome drug czar (Tony King, Shaft).

Cult filmmaker Milton Katselas (When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder?) directed this realistic police drama, shot on location in the gritty streets of 1970s Manhattan, which serves as the backdrop for two wild Times Square chases (one of which winds across midtown rooftops and theater marquees before culminating in an elevator showdown at Saks Fifth Avenue).

Also featured in the film are a number of stars and future stars, including Susan Blakely (TV’s Rich Man, Poor Man), Hector Elizondo (Pretty Woman), William Devane (The Kane Files), Richard Gere (Brooklyn’s Finest), Bob Balaban (Howl) and Yaphet Kotto (Across 110th Street) as Moriarty’s hard-boiled partner, “Crunch” Blackstone.
