Briefly, Riseborough plays an enigmatic outsider living on a remote Scottish island who finds herself caught between her authoritarian minister husband (Lewis) and the delinquent (Ross Anderson, Unbroken) sent to live with them.

Written and directed by Corinna McFarlane, The Silent Storm was produced by Nicky Bentham and executive produced by the James Bond team of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

Though it boasts a strong cast, the R-rated film didn’t make much of an impression on the critics during its limited theatrical run in May, 2016. It averaged 4.1/10 at Rotten Tomatoes based on 15 published reviews.
