Yet another adaptation of Ruth McKenney’s timeless autobiographical stories about two lively Ohio girls trying to make their way in New York City, this 1955 musical version of My Sister Eileen stars Betty Garrett (On The Town) as brainy writer Ruth and Janet Leigh (The Vikings) as beautiful actress Eileen.

Among their suitors are a randy publisher (Jack Lemmon, The Fortune Cookie) and a sympathetic soda jerk (Bob Fosse, who also provides the sensational choreography).

Songs are from Jule Styne and Leo Robin and the script is by Blake Edwards (Breakfast at Tiffany’s) and Richard Quine, the latter of whom directs.; Quine directs.

Bonus features on this Blu-ray release include an isolated music track (with some dialogue and effects) and an original theatrical trailer.
