Jonathan Miller’s 1970 comedy-drama romance Take a Girl Like You marks the great satirist/writer/director’s only venture into cinema.

Hayley Mills and Oliver Reed in Take a Girl Like You.

The film, an adaptation of a Kingsley Amis novel, is about a virginal young woman, Jenny (Hayley Mills, in one of her first “adult” roles), and the men who pursue her, particularly Patrick (Oliver Reed, Women in Love), who finds that deeper feelings may overtake his genial caddishness.

Also starring in the film are Noel Harrison, John Bird, and Sheila Hancock. It features a score by Stanley Myers.

The special features on the Blu-ray edition include an isolated music track and an original theatrical trailers
