A year in the life of a surf town at the mercy of the Atlantic Ocean—an Irish town, at that—is presented in the documentary film Between Land and Sea.

Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s stunning west coast, the 2016 film, directed by Ross Whitaker, embeds itself within small town of Lahinch’s passionate surfing community. Following this dedicated group of diehards who want their local waves to be known around the world, this observational doc combines exhilarating footage with often offbeat portraits of the ocean-going natives of County Clare.
