News: MyTVLife.TV, a new site offering personalized commemorations via TV Guide, launches this week!

Disc Dish contributor Gary Frisch, a life-long TV and film enthusiast, has launched MyTVLife.TV, a new entertainment venture that combines his love of popular culture with his extensive collection of nearly 30 years of issues of the venerable TV Guide weekly magazine.

MyTVLife is a venture that provides decorative, high-quality certificates commemorating life events—birthdays, weddings or other personal touchstone dates—via what was being broadcast on all the major stations on that date, as per the corresponding issue of TV Guide.

“The idea sprang from my large collection of TV Guides, dating from 1977 to the last digest-sized issue in 2005,” says Frisch, who began regularly collecting the popular television mag as a child in the Seventies. “I thought this would be a fun way to “use” my collection while sharing these television and pop-culture time capsules with everybody.”

Each certificate is emblazoned with the name and date of the person and event being celebrated (framed in a clapperboard!); rundowns of the date’s prime time TV schedule, top shows and premieres; the cover of the week’s TV Guide; and more. The certificates are available in different sizes and in a digital format.

Celebrating the site’s launch, MyTVLife.TV is offering an exclusive 50% discount to Disc Dish readers. To activate it, ,just head over to MyTVLife.TV and enter the code DISCDISHDEAL21.
