A Good Old Fashioned Orgy movie scene

Leslie Bibb and Jason Sudeikis keep their clothes on--for now--in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.

A group of party-loving thirty-somethings decide to throw one last — and lust-fueled — party before the end of the summer in the comedy movie A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.

And that’s pretty much the whole story of the 2011 film, which stars Jason Sudeikis (Hall Pass) as the “host” who regularly mounts lavish summer theme parties at his father’s swanky Hamptons pad. It’s only when Sudeikis’ dad (Don Johnson, TV’s Miami Vice) announces he plans to sell the beach house that his son decides it’s time for one final bash that will end the summer with a proverbial bang!! If only he knew earlier on that convincing his friends to join in on the festivities would be more than a little difficult…

The first feature film co-written and co-directed by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck (writers on TV’s King of the Hill), Orgy‘s other familiar faces and figures include Leslie Bibb (Zookeeper), Lake Bell (No Strings Attached), Michelle Borth (Komodo vs. Cobra), Lucy Punch (Bad Teacher), Will Forte (MacGruber), Nick Kroll (Date Night) and Lindsay Sloane (Horrible Bosses).

Released on a limited basis to U.S. theaters in September 2011, the movie rang up a modest $200,000 at the box office, though critics were surprisingly kind to what they generally described as a surprisingly cute comedy.

The DVD edition of A Good Old Fashioned Orgy contains both the R-rated theatrical version and an unrated cut that offers three additional minutes of naughtiness.

Here’s a list of the DVD’s bonus features:

  • Deleted scenes
  • Gag reel
  • “How to Film an Orgy” featurette
  • Commentary with co-writers/directors Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck and Jason Sudeikis

And speaking of naughty, here’s the movie’s trailer:
