A bunch of British teens sentenced to community service accidentally get superpowers in the science-fiction TV show Misfits, which won the BAFTA TV Award for Drama Series in 2010.
Written and created by Howard Overman (TV’s Merlin), Misfits stars Lauren Socha, Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Antonia Thomas and Iwan Rheon as the five unruly misfits, who are forced to do community service to pay back for their crimes. A freak electrical storm in their town gives each of them a superpower, like invisibility and hearing peoples’ thoughts, that reveals their biggest insecurity.
With these powers, they are drawn into saving their town from an evil that has descended upon it. All while they deal with the challenges of everyday teenage life, including relationships, friendships, parents and, of course, sex.
After its successful run on U.K. television, Misfits premiered in the U.S. on Hulu.com and launched on Logo in July.
