White Frog movie scene

Harry Shum Jr. (l.) and Booboo Stewart in White Frog.

The 2012 independent film drama White Frog directed by Quentin Lee deals with the fractured relationship between a gay young man and his brother with their family.

After the death of his popular brother Chaz (Harry Shum, Jr., TV’s Glee), the addled Nick (Booboo Stewart, the Twilight films) struggles to carry on. Nick’s parents (B.D. Wong and Joan Chen) have their own problems coping with the loss of their eldest son, but Chaz’s best friend Randy (Gregg Sulkin, TV’s Wizards of Waverly Place) takes Nick under his wing. As Chaz’s family comes to understand Chaz’s secret life, they will be forced to reconcile the boy they thought they knew with the man he really was.

The unrated White Frog had its world premiere as the opening night film at the 2012 San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and was an official selection at the 2012 Outfest Film Festival, the 2012 Vancouver Asian Film Festival, the 2012 Boston Asian American Film Festival, the 2012 Asian American Film Festival and the 2012 Hawaii International Film Festival.
