DriftThe latest surfing movie — following last year’s Chasing Mavericks and 2011’s Soul Surfer — is Drift, a 2013 waves-a-crashing sports drama film.

The Kelly Brothers spent their youth searching for the perfect wave in Australia. Out of necessity the family launched a backyard surf business, re-thinking board design, crafting homemade wetsuits and selling merchandise out of their van. Battling big waves, small town conservatism and criminals, the brothers give rise to a global brand—which could prove to be their undoing.

Directed by Morgan O’Neill and Ben Nott and starring Myles Pollard (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and Sam Worthington (Man on a Ledge), Drift took home Best Narrative Feature and Best Film of the Festival awards from the Rincon International Film Festival, as well as the Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking award from the Newport Beach Film Festival.

The R-rated Drift made its commercial premiere in the U.S. as a video-on-demand movie.

The DVD and Blu-ray include behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast and crew as a bonus feature.
