New Release: Greenberg DVD and Blu-ray

Greenberg movie scene with Ben StillerIndependent film darling Noah Baumbach’s comedy Greenberg was released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 13, 2010, by Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

The movie grossed only $3.7 million at the box office, but that’s about right for a Baumbach film. Although a writer on Fantastic Mr. Fox, Baumbach’s writer/director credits include such acclaimed but low box-office films as The Squid & the Whale ($7.6 million) and Margot at the Wedding ($1.9 million).

For Greenberg, Baumbach joined again with Jennifer Jason Leigh (Margot at the Wedding), who came up with the story of a New Yorker trying to figure out his life while house-sitting for his brother in Los Angeles.

Leigh also is in the cast, but the star is Ben Stiller, playing the titular character who has way too much on his mind.

Chris Messina (Julie & Julia), Rhys Ifans (Pirate Radio), Susan Traylor (Welcome to California) and Greta Gerwig (The House of the Devil) round out the cast of this off-beat movie.
