Acorn Media released its first British TV Blu-ray title on Oct. 26, 2010: the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express. The high-definition disc bowed along with the acclaimed Canadian television series Slings & Arrows: The Complete Collection also on Blu-ray.

Priced at $29.99, Agatha Christie’s Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express stars David Suchet as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot as he searches for a killer on a snowbound train from Istanbul to London. The program also stars Samuel West (Van Helsing), Eileen Atkins (Cold Mountain), Toby Jones (Frost/Nixon), Hugh Bonneville (Iris) and Barbara Hershey (Hannah and Her Sisters).

Murder on the Orient Express debuted on PBS’s Masterpiece Mystery in July.

  • 47-minute “David Suchet on the Orient Express,” with the actor hosting a tour of the train and exploring its history

The same day, Acorn Media also released Slings & Arrows: The Complete Collection on Blu-ray, priced at $79.99.

The six-disc set includes all 18 episodes of the Canadian TV show about the trials and tribulations of a Shakesperean theater troupe.
