New Release: I Am DVD

On Nov. 2, 2010, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment released the faith-based drama I Am, a modern telling of the Ten Commandments, on DVD for the suggested retail price of $22.98.

Set in Los Angeles, the movie follows the lives of 10 strangers whose paths intersect and collapse through a plot that follows the Ten Commandments. I Am stars John Ward, who also produced and directed the film, along with former New York Mets star player Todd Zeile, who also served as a producer.

Ward and Zeile came up with an ambitious gameplan for getting the word out on their film. The movie was screened in some 2,000-plus churches around the globe in what is said to be the largest pre-release, cross-denominational church film screening in history. This reportedly made I Am the first feature film to be released by a studio to churches before its general release.

To further spread the word for the PG-13 religious film, Ward and Zeile set off on a tour to select cities where they hosted screenings and live discussions.
