New Release: Buried Blu-ray/DVD

Buried movie scene with Ryan ReynoldsStarring People magazine’s 2010 Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds, thriller Buried was released to the home market on Jan. 18, 2011, but only came out as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, digital download and video-on-demand — no separate DVD.

In Lionsgate‘s movie, Reynolds (The Green Lantern) plays Paul Conroy, a member of a civilian convoy in Iraq who has been beaten and buried in a wooden box by insurgents.

Armed only with a cell phone with a draining battery and a lighter, Reynolds has 90 minutes to save his own life by piecing together clues, including the voice of his kidnapper, to lead an team of special agents to his location.

The movie, which had a limited run in theaters and was an Official Selection at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, also stars Samantha Mathis (Broken Arrow).

The Buried Blu-ray/DVD combo pack was priced at $29.95 and includes the making-of featurette “Unearthing Buried.”
