Rookie Blue TV scene

Missy Peregrym makes it count in Rookie Blue.

Rookie Blue: The Complete First Season, the well-received Canadian cop drama that premiered on ABC-TV last summer, arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on May 31, 2011, from Entertainment One.

Described by the L.A. Times as “Grey’s Anatomy with guns,” Rookie Blue focuses on five young cops who trained together at the police academy and are now taking their training to the streets.

The series kicks off with the rookies’ first day on the job. There’s Andy (Missy Peregrym, TV’s Heroes), the looker who’s following in her policeman father’s footsteps; the overly ambitious Gail (Charlotte Sullivan, Fever Pitch); Dov (Gregory Smith, TV’s Everwood), the thrill-seeker; single mother Traci (Enuka Okuma, TV’s 24); and Chris (Travis Milne, TV’s Confessions of a Go-Go Girl), the nice guy. You can be sure that lots of crime, justice, action, romance and misgivings ensue for this quintet over the first season’s 13 episodes.

The Blu-ray and DVD carries the list prices of $49.98 and $44.98, respectively.

Bonus features include the following:

  • featurettes
  • cast and crew interviews
  • behind-the-scenes footage
