HopReleased in time for Easter, 2011 animated/live-action movie Hop tells the story of a bunny who wants to rock. Problem is, E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand, Get Him To the Greek) is destined to be the Easter Bunny.

E.B. heads to Hollywood to become a rock drummer and meets Fred (James Marsden, Straw Dogs), an out of work slacker with his own goals. Together, they encounter mishaps and misadventures as they help each other recognize the importance of family.

The children’s film also features the voices of Hugh Laurie (TV’s House), Hank Azaria (The Smurfs), Gary Cole (The Joneses), Elizabeth Perkins (TV’s Weeds), comedienne Chelsea Handler (TV’s In the Motherhood) and  David Hasselhoff as himself.

Critics weren’t too fond of Hop, with New York Daily News‘ critic Elizabeth Weitzman saying the film is “as fake and forgettable as a marshmallow Peep.” But families enjoyed the movie, helping it gross $108 million when it was in theaters.

On disc, Hop is available in both Blu-ray and DVD combo packs including the new mini movie “Phil’s Dance Party,” starring the chicks Phil and Carlos. Phil crashes after eating too much candy and Carlos must perform the Merengue solo in the big dance finale.
