With Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, the famed circus got a Hollywood infusion, executive produced by Avatar filmmaker James Cameron and written and directed by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe helmer Andrew Adamson.
The film isn’t all dance and gymnastics. It has a story that’s a mix of Alice in the Wonderland and the Nutcracker Suite:
Mia (Erica Linz) becomes entranced by an Aerialist (Igor Zaripov). When they accidentally fall into a dreamlike world, they are separated and must travel through different worlds trying to find each other again.
Rated PG, Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away was screened in limited theaters in the U.S. and grossed $12 million.
The Blu-ray/DVD Combo and Blu-ray 3D Combo packs include two special features:
- “Making Worlds Away“
- and “A Day in the Life With Erica Linz.”
