School lunches will forever be tainted with the release of the gooey action horror comedy Cooties.

The straight-ahead storyline finds cafeteria food virus turning elementary school children into little killer savages, prompting a group of misfit teachers to band together to escape the playground carnage.

Co-directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion, the film stars Elijah Wood (Grand Piano), Rainn Wilson (Super), and Alison Pill (Goon) as teachers who must fight to survive.

Poorly received by the critics and a virtual no-show at the box office in mid-September, 2015, Cooties nonetheless has the chance to become a cult pick.

The Cooties home entertainment release includes an audio commentary with the cast and crew, two behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, an alternate ending and gag reel.
