Peelander Yellow gets his point across in Mad Tiger.

Peelander Yellow gets his point across in Mad Tiger.

For the past 15 years, Peelander-Z has pushed the boundaries of madcap acrobatic stage antics wherever they play, from underground venues to music festival showcases like Bonnaroo and the Vans Warped Tour. Out of costume on camera for the first time in Mad Tiger, band members Yellow (Kengo Hioki) and Red (Kotaro Tsukada), friends and bandmates for a decade-and-a-half, come to terms with their new roles as Red seeks a life outside the band, while Yellow feels betrayed and abandoned.

The feature-length flick premiered at the non-fiction festival DOC NYC in November, 2015 and has been playing festivals around the country for the past eight months.

The two-disc DVD includes a slew of bonus features, including the Peelander-Z music videos “So Many Mike” and “Ninja-High Schooool” directed by Mad Tiger co-director Jonathan Yi; deleted scenes; the complete concert of “Red’s Last Show,” and commentary by the directors along with Peelander-Yellow and Peelander-Red.
